IMPACT Boston is a part of Triangle Inc. and through that partnership has developed safety training programs that reach people with a wide range of disabilities.
IMPACT’s hands-on safety training helps people with disabilities:
❚ ❚ ❚ Identify Unsafe Situations. Through building awareness and assertive communication skills people with intellectual disabilities learn to distinguish safe and unsafe people, communicate their needs, and report unsafe or uncomfortable interactions to people who can help them.
❚ ❚ ❚ Physical Skills for a Range of Body Types and Mobility. Self-protection options for people who use walkers and wheel chairs and people who have limited or no vision or hearing.
❚ ❚ ❚ Confidence and Power. IMPACT instructors can tailor physical and verbal skills to individual needs and give people with disabilities the chance to experience the power of their voices and bodies.
IMPACT’s programs are accessible to people with physical, intellectual, visual and other disabilities.
